چکیده
Aim. The aim of this study was evaluate the relationship between preeclampsia and antiphospholipid antibodies. Methods. A total of 116 pregnant women between 20th and 40th weeks of gestation admitted to our department were investigated. 63 of them were allocated our preeclampsia group and 53 of them were allocated our control group. Lupus anticoagulant, anticardiolipin antibodies (IG G ve M) and antiphosphatidylserine antibodies (IG G ve M) were measured. Results. There was no statistical significance between preeclampsia and control group for antiphospholipid antibodies but these were two times higher in preeclamptic group compared to control group. (22.2% in preeclampsia, 11.3% in control group p=0.193). Conclusions. In an unselected population we were not able to demonstrate an association between preeclampsia and antiphospholipid antibody syndrome but antiphospholipid antibody ratio elevated in women with preeclampsia. These findings show that, there is a need for large scale studies.

Comparison of Antiphospholipid Antibodies between Preeclamptsia and Normal Pregnant Women
Antiphospholipid antibodies (APLA) may be detected in normal pregnancies and also may cause thrombosis, recurrent fetal loss, placental infarction and preeclampsia. In the present study the possible differences in APLA titer between healthy pregnant women and preeclampsia cases without history of thrombosis was examined. The APLA titer in 50 healthy pregnant women with 50 preeclampsia cases wit...

BACKGROUND The primary objective of this study was to determine if elevated antiphospholipid antibody titers were correlated with the presence of preeclampsia/eclampsia, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), placental insufficiency, and a prolonged length of stay (PLOS), in women who delivered throughout Florida, USA. METHODS Cross-sectional analyses were conducted using a statewide hospital da...

Background: Preeclampsia has high prevalence and important complication. The relationship between Glucose- 6-Phosphate Dehydrogenas (G6PD) and preeclampsia are expressed previously but their relationships are controversial yet. Some studies confirm this possibility and some others dismiss it. So we decided to examine the relationship between G6PD activity and preeclampsia although it is not den...

A 31 year old woman was hospitalized for evaluation of aortic valve insufficiency and her present cardiac status. Clinical and paraclinical findings strongly suggested the presence of a collagen vascular inflammatory processprecisely, the antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS), with systemic lupus erythematosus as the underlying disease.
